Crack-Flex Pro

We use GemSeal’s construction-grade, hot-applied joint and crack sealing compounds. These are formulated with selected asphaltic resins, synthetic polymeric rubber, plasticizers, stabilizers, and a blend organic reinforcing fillers.

It’s a one-part crack sealer that provides excellent results under extremely varying conditions. It’s perfect for asphalt pavements with high pedestrian foot traffic and vehicle power steering in high-temperature conditions.

Black Diamond Pavement Sealer

We use GemSeal’s Black Diamond pavement sealer. It’s a new, high performance alternative to asphalt emulsion (AE) sealers. Black Diamond exceeds AE performance by providing better coverage, greater durability, and superior color stability.

Black Diamond also provides performance similar to refined tar sealers through ease of application and toughness against power steering marks.

Why is Asphalt Seal Coating Important?

The majority of roads and driveways today are composed of several layers of different materials. What you see on a daily basis is just the top layer, a “roof” if you will, that protects all the other layers from constant wear and tear, and keeps things dry.

Asphalt works as a binder to protect these lower layers with its excellent adhesive and waterproofing properties. With its elastic characteristics, it can expand and contract with the weather and still remain in tact. When cracks develop, they should be crack sealed frequently.

Ideally, cracks should be crack sealed every summer, when there is more heat and the asphalt is warmed and expanding. Sealing cracks will help prevent further damage and pavement failures like alligatoring and potholes.
